State of Suspension

It is a great feeling to walk through airport ticket control alone. You reach a magic world where no one can reach you, and no one knows where you are. In this suspended state, you can read undisturbed, with no tasks to tick off and calls to return. You can glide through Duty Free buying lipsticks you don’t need. You can think peaceful thoughts about the people you’ve just left, and those you are flying towards. If you’re very lucky, they won’t meet you at the other side and your spell remains unbroken a while longer.

I know air travel isn’t usually like that, especially now. But sometimes it is, and I would like to be taking one of those journeys today.
