There’s yet another iPod billboard above the post office on my block. It’s more or less the same one they’ve been running for four years now.
Dancing to music that no one else can hear is below air guitar on the dorky scale.

They’re rocking out to “Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head”. Isn’t it obvious?

Wow. That’s a very big, very visually demanding ad. 😦
When did Google start dropping in giant, full color, animated banner ads?

John Naughton had a post a while back about “the iPod … losing its cool image. It’s becoming the aural equivalent of Marks & Spencer knickers” http://memex.naughtons.org/archives/2006/06/25/3008
The online ad he refers to is offline now which is a pity.

@Jerry: yes, but I bet you haven’t been dancing wildly to it on a streetcorner for the past four years…those ads are so tired.
@Liz: yikes, those Google/AOL sidebar ads are new, and ugly. First time I’ve seen them show up too.
@Ezra: on Monday, the ad model definitely was. Sunny again today, thank goodness.
@John: we’re overdue.
